Happy Tree LLC works primarily with government agencies providing traditional tree maintenance services. While much of our work with these agencies involves the trimming or removal of individual trees, our team truly enjoys the larger scale projects such as street tree trimming, or projects involving some of the City’s park trees. Our team of skilled Arborists are currently engaged in several such projects, and the sense of satisfaction we get, not only from the improved aesthetics we see immediately, but also in knowing we’ve added to the overall health and longevity of the trees. Happy Tree LLC was recently awarded the contract to perform arboricultural services for the City of Virginia Beach’s 5/31 Memorial Project. The project involves the removal of approximately 50 trees on the site, as well as tree pruning on the site. The primary objective is to remove hazards and prepare the site for construction of hardscape features. City staff is very concerned the work be carried out so as to have minimal impact on the remaining trees on site, so a low impact approach will be taken to avoid disturbances to the forest floor and avoid soil compaction. In addition, the work has to be completed to accommodate several species of endangered migrating bats. More to come—–
