In an exciting new project for our team, our Board-Certified Master Arborists and staff are gearing up to assess the historic “Willoughby Oak”. Located on the grounds of the Norfolk Naval Base, estimates of the age of this historic tree range anywhere from 400 to 600 years! Our team will be performing a Level 3 assessment, and then developing a detailed tree maintenance plan for the US Navy’s maintenance personnel.
It’s not often we get an opportunity to apply our craft on such a historic and unique tree, and we look forward to being a part of its future. The initial data collection is scheduled to take place in the spring of 2024 and starting then, we’ll be posting the progress of project right here on our blog. Stay tuned.
